My stand in supporting Israel and Bible prophecy

Some of my friends know my love and support for Israel and they have at this time come to me condemning the nation’s actions on the Gaza strip. But they were not aware that Hamas had been continuing to fire rockets despite a truce. Israel had, in turn, been very patient for ignoring the rockets for too long, which were killing innocent Israelis. That was it, enough was enough for Israel.

While Israel's retaliation targeted Hamas, innocent Palestinians were killed because Hamas used common places where civilians go to - school buildings, mosques and apartments - as rocket-firing launch pads.

“If they want to fight, they should fight like real men and not hide ‘behind a lady’s skirt’”. - a Straits Times reader commenting on Hamas in the online Forum section yesterday.

In Malaysia, the Prime Minister condemned Israel for retaliating, failing to realize the whole story as pictured by Malaysian newscasters who also support their Palestinian ‘brothers’. The television news showed only one side of the story where Israeli bombs hit the Palestinians. They cannot relate otherwise because of religious influences.

In Singapore, we are being exposed to more realistic news resulting in a significant number of people supporting Israel.

This is one of the interesting scenarios today relating to Bible prophecy. In Daniel 11, Ezekiel 38, and Psalm 83 where it states that the Arab nations will attack Israel in the seven year Tribulation Period and be totally destroyed (Ezekiel 39:1-6). The house of Esau (Palestinians) will also be destroyed (Obadiah 16-18).
